In a place to the south of the island is the town of Es Migjorn Gran, previously called San Cristóbal. It originated around the year 1769 through the efforts of a group of men from Ferreries led by Cristóbal Barber, from whom the original hermitage took its name around which the peaceful little village formed. There was born and practiced his profession as a doctor D. Francisco Camps Mercadal, a notable historian and folklorist, a patient investigator of the customs, stories, and songs of the rural sector. The municipal district of Es Migjorn Gran is the region of all the Balearic Islands richest in megalithic monuments, with a density of 5 prehistoric remains per square kilometer; as his parish priest wrote graphically at the beginning of the last century, the whole term is a talayot. Among the main remains of the past stand out the grandiose Cova des Colom, of the proportions of a cathedral; the hypostyle hall of Binigaus and the colossal talayote of Sant Agustí Vell, whose wide chamber is of a unique peculiarity in archaeology. The beaches of Santo Tomas and Binigaus are also within the municipal district of Es Migjorn Gran. The town has a series of hiking routes along the Cami de Cavalls, as well as a circular route of 2.8 km that encircles the village to admire the typical orchards and local customs.Set of two accommodations with capacity for up to 10 people, which can be reserved independently (Apartment for 2 guests, main house for 8 guests, or the entire house with a total capacity of 10 people) located in the town of Es Migjorn Gran, in the central-southern part of the island and with easy access to the Playa de Santo Tomás and local hiking routes of great ecological value.
