Ancient castle nestled in the renowned Langhe hills (オフ市場)

The massive and imposing Borgomale Castle is located in the center of a small village in the Langhe, surrounded by suggestive hills and vineyards. The village of Borgomale dates back to the 11th century since 1380 the existence of a watchtower and defense tower has been historically proven. Subsequently, the current 'casaforte' rises, a fortified structure which in the 17th century became the property of the Savoy. Until this period, access to the interior spaces was allowed by the presence of a drawbridge on the facade. Also known as the "Cinque Torri" castle, it becomes a residence and, a courtly staircase is built, the ceilings of the noble floor are redone, the fresco still present in one of the halls on the first floor is created. The ancient drawbridge is replaced by an external covered staircase frescoed with spiral columns and capitals. In the 18th century, the portico overlooking the courtyard was built. The castle is made up of "split" stones mixed with bricks and cut stone edges. Internally, on the ground floor, there is the ancient "Arms room" with cross vaults in masonry and brick, noteworthy are the ancient kitchen, the large hall eight meters high called "caminata", so defined for the presence of a monumental fireplace, the hall of the "Parade Shield" and the austere internal chapel. The Castle still retains all its charm and is partially restored. Potentially it is suitable for different destinations: from a fascinating historical private residence to representative institutional headquarters for foundations with exclusive hospitality activities. The internal courtyard and the panoramic garden overlooking the woods and hills guarantee total privacy. The cellars, communicating and on several levels, are very suggestive. The castle is a national monument: in agreement with the Piedmont Region and the Municipality, it was recently opened to the public. Entered in the "Castelli in scena" circuit, it was the exceptional setting that hosted theatrical pìeces, concerts, contemporary art, and photography exhibitions. Immersed in the quiet of the village and surrounded by the picturesque hilly landscape characteristic of the Alta Langa, the property is only 20 minutes from the renowned city of Alba, the center of Piedmont's food and wine excellences.
